I am turning thirty this year and I don’t want to do culture. I basically want to lounge around and drink, then luckily St. Petersburg has a ton of good accommodations on the water and they also have good weather, and my anniversary is in March and the weather should be good then. It will be hot enough to warrant a dip in the pool and perhaps a cold swim in the ocean, however then I want to hit the spa so I can get a facial, and next I want to kneel on the beach with a booze drink and just relax. Perhaps a nice breakfast after that? I will confess I am gluten free on my anniversary since I have youngsters now. I don’t easily get to go out and do anything separate from the youngsters. I am pushing my parents to take the youngsters for the night so my partner and I can cherish a night away. I know my anniversary will be a good excuse. St. Petersburg is a quick trip and the weather will be elegant. My parents won’t have to take care of the youngsters that long however the two of us will get a much needed break. I constantly have to keep my home sealed up.

Living in Springfield, Missouri means that the weather is mostly cold.

I have sprung quite a bit of money into making the house airtight. The windows are caulked and sealed. The door has insulation around it. The baseboards got reinsulated last summer. After I closed up my thermal envelope, my heater was able to be more efficient. Having a sealed home means your energy bills are lower. However, the con to this is that the same, stale air keeps circling over and over again. I started to feel sick all the time during the winter. That was because the air was filled with dust, dirt, and hair. I thought maybe springing for ductwork cleaning in Missouri once a year would do the trick. It really helped, along with Springfield heating service. It wasn’t the magic fix though. I ended up needing to get an air purification system installed in my household. I can’t open the windows and doors to let in a fresh breeze. What I can do is use the air purifier to clean the existing air in the house. It catches all the dander and hair. The biggest regret I have is not springing for heated flooring.

My husband and I moved down south to Tuscaloosa, AL for his work.

We bought a house and decided to fix it up quickly before the rest of our furniture arrived. We did all the big stuff first. The popcorn ceilings were scrapped, sanded, and painted. Then we sanded and painted the wood walls. Next the floors were ripped up. No more rugs but instead there is a gray tile. I even asked my husband during the floor process if we should consider heated flooring. It made sense. We already had the floors ripped up. Adding electric heated mats would be easy. We lived near a Tuscaloosa heating dealership. My husband said that Alabama does not get that cold. It would also double the cost of the project. The time was what convinced us. We wanted to move in quickly. We didn’t have the time to spend on the floors if we wanted our furniture not to be in the way. So we decided to just tile and leave it at that. Well, a year after living in our Tuscaloosa home the heating system died. We then had to buy a new system. We have since learned that Alabama winters are cold. The tile floors are icy on our feet. My husband wears socks all the time and I have invested in throw rugs. We should have gone with heated flooring. We could have saved so much money and enjoyed this wonderful heating system if we had. Now I am looking to redo the bathrooms and add radiant heat in there.

It was amazing to see the difference. It was so much fresher plus cleaner. I loved that I had visual proof that I did something fantastic for my house. I now made a mark in my calendar that every five years I am calling that Plano, TX dealer to schedule air duct cleaning.
