You can’t imagine the splendor and awe that is tied to the Magic Tree in Lee’s Summit. I have lived here my entire life, and I still stare at the Magic Tree like it truly has magic in it. It takes me back to my childhood when I see it now, and I was able to introduce my girlfriend to the Magic Tree last year. The Magic Tree is lit during the winter holidays, and it is always in the same area. It sits at the intersection of two highways, and it has been a community draw for decades. People will come to look at the magic tree, and they drop off toy donations. All donations are part of the Operation Toy Soldier non-profit group. Since the onset of cell phones and selfies, the Magic Tree has gotten an even bigger notice. People will flock to Lee’s Summit so they can take selfies in front of the famed Magic Tree. When I first started talking about the Magic Tree in Lee’s Summit, my girlfriend thought I was romanticizing the entire thing. Once she went home with me and saw the Magic Tree, her opinion changed. Afterwards, we went back to mom and dad’s and drank hot buttered rum while relaxing by the fireplace. No good winter day can go by without sitting in front of the fireplace, and turning the furnace down low. When we went home, my girlfriend told me the Magic Tree was an amazing part of the trip to my parents, in Lee’s Summit, MO. She hoped to return with me again in the future.
