Even though Hillsboro is a giant village in OR, it often feels like a small town, and people seem to know each other wherever you go! My partner & I go to a church & my fantastic friend and I take our youngsters to Friday college as well, and when the church needed a new commercial air conditioner, the pastor tried to get almost everyone to make donations, however then the community rallied together to help with funding the project, every woman attending the church & people throughout the community raised money to buy a commercial air conditioner for the Hillsboro, OR building, then i was one of the businesss hired to complete the work. I was glad to help with the project, because I was a member of the church in Hillsboro. I even donated some of my time for free. My boss would not certainly let me work for free, although I donated 10% of my hourly salary to the church & that was another way for me to supply back, however since the cooling system system was updated in the building, temperatures inside are much cooler & maybe even a little tad cold… A ton of money was raised during the funding weekend & the church is going to have a picnic next weekend to celebrate the new air conditioner. They are going to put some of the extra funds to use by having a free luncheon for the entire community on mothers day weekend. It’s nice of the church to use some of the money to supply back to the community. I’m going to take my family for sure.
