Renovating our apartment in Birmingham

My fiance & I moved to Birmingham, AL, right after my good friend and I graduated from university. My good friend and I had honestly little money to invest into purchasing a apartment however didn’t want to rent; After touring the several citys, my good friend and I were glad to find an affordable household in Highland Park, but located right near downtown Birmingham, the section offers amix of historic homes, house buildings & small businesses. My good friend and I were able to afford the apartment because it had been left vacant for quite some time & need a good deal of renovation, but fixing up the apartment has taken us quite a few years. My good friend and I began with the most important complications, such as a current roof & bringing the electrical system up to code, but we’ve installed current windows & exterior doors, sanded & refinished the hardwood floors & eventually managed to remodel both lavatorys, and it took us quite a while to save up the money to update the kitchen. I was glad to update the ancient refrigerator, stove, linoleum floor, warped cupboards & formica countertops. We’ve gradually torn down all of the walls & ceilings throughout the house, added insulation & installed current drywall, outlets & light fixtures; This allowed us to access the air duct, which was a mess. Whoever designed the original duct system created all sorts of sharp bends that restric airflow. There were also holes, leaks at the seams & a tremendous amount of grime builtup inside the pipes. My good friend and I hired a local Birmingham HVAC professional to actually unlink the old air duct & design a more energy efficient alternative. My good friend and I took out a loan to afford a high-efficiency furnace & cooling system that effectively handle the demands of local weather. With temperatures in Birmingman dropping into the thirties & climbing into the nineties, heating & cooling is important to comfort.
