I am a foodie. When I go on a trip, I research the cute little restaurants for hours. It is important to me to have a fine hotel and enjoyable places to eat. If I can find a little cafe with bread, pastries and cocoa, I am going to go there. My ideal getaway would be to just walk around shopping, eating and having a hot beverage. I wouldn’t mind seeing some pretty landscapes and getting pampered in the hotel spa. My fiance is an active lady. She loves biking, running and going on long hikes. On a getaway she wants to do stuff and see the sights. She is down with going to a museum, taking a tour or going on a long bike ride… For me, that doesn’t sound all that great. I have to be truly careful when planning a trip that isn’t totally one sided. Thankfully I found a good trip location that will cater to us both. Albuquerque, New Mexico has everything her and I could possibly want. I found some pretty hiking and biking trails. I also found a hotel that is actually swanky, but has a running path for my fiance. She can run and see the sights while I get massaged at the hotel spa. I even found that there are tons of unique restaurants within walking distance with great cuisine. It is in New Mexico so evidently there are tons of Mexican venues to eat. I also found the Golden Crown Panaderia has all sorts of breads and pastries. One bread is an orange-chile bread that I am dying to try. I think I need to take our fiance out to that place.
