When I moved into my up-to-date apartment in Birmingham, Alabama I decided that I wanted to do some major renovations, however i decided on redoing the flooring.
I didn’t want that gross brown rug anymore, but instead to upgrade to gray tile.
I ripped up all the rugs, that gross padding, and then laid down a brick board. Thankfully my sibling mentioned heated flooring when I was in the process. I was ready to set up the radiant floors. All I needed was the electric heated mats to go over the brick board and to put the stone on top of that, but my heating system is then sealed in and protected… For about 15 years it would be safe and work fine, by then things start to wear out. That is wonderful though, that is really when I would want to redo the flooring anyway. I am easily blissful that I made the splurge and hired a Birmingham, AL HVAC contractor to do the heated flooring upgrade. I got to take a moment and relax while in my project. The heated mats are now in every room of the apartment and the stone was laid over top once they finished, and having the heating system at my feet is amazing. The heated air doesn’t rise. It doesn’t make noise or stir up dust, then since the heat stays where you want it, I am able to lower the control component a few degrees. This results in big energy savings. I appreciate the heating system I have now. It was a worthy investment.
