My company sent me to Albuquerque for a week-long conference.
- I wasn’t particularly excited to go to Albuquerque, but I quickly learned that New Mexico has legal recreational marijuana.
That put a smile on my face. I wasn’t going to be with my kids or my wife and I thought I would use the opportunity to smoke cannabis for the first time in a long time. A couple of my co-workers were going to the conference as well and we were all talking about the potential for using marijuana products since they were legal. It’s always been my dream to go to White Sands National Monument. I never thought I would ever get a chance to see all of the white dunes, and I wasn’t going to turn down the opportunity to drive there from Albuquerque. Even though it was three and a half hours to White Sands from Albuquerque, my co-workers and I still decided to do that on our 1 day off. Monday was a free day and we could use that day to explore Albuquerque. My co-workers and I decided to get up very early in the morning so we could drive from Albuquerque to White Sands National Monument. We packed a picnic lunch and took a rental car. We stopped at a dispensary on our way out of Albuquerque and we picked up some marijuana supplies. We had the most amazing day and we rode surfboards down the side of the dunes. Even though it was an extremely long day, I wouldn’t have chosen any other activity for the free day.
